JEFFREY H POCOCK

Received this message from Jeffrey in email reply to my email regarding Kathy Leahy status and I quote......"Is it time I figured out all these fancy addresses - and came out.  No, I am not announcing I am gay, in my mind, even with all this fancy communication, a simple hello seems more than adequate.

So first let me thank you sending me the news on Kathy.  We are all at that tender age.  Very happy to hear she has fought back, and recovering well.

I so wanted to attend our last reunion, but I am presently living on the other side of the world-China.  Still a US citizen, still pay those damn taxes, still have home in Boston.  But for the past seven years my life has been China.  Still working 10-12 hours a day, but truthfully, I would not want it any other way.  Seven years ago I thought I would die from being forced to retire (our great economy) but alas, the great communist power stood up and said "Jeffrey, we will take you.  We want to copy everything you know in your brain!'

Kidding of course, but getting a new position with a small lighting company in New York, brought me to this land of craziness.  And it has given me new life.  Dirty air, unbelieveable culture shock, and absolutely the worst drivers in the world....I could open an English language school, where are you Mrs Dure!

All three of my children are now out of the nest.  Doing very well in their own business, working for the top ad agency in New York, teaching first grade in Spanish Harlem.  I could not ask for better.

So the news of the next upcoming reunion sounds wonderful.  And if there is still anyone left in our class who likes to shake some booty on the dance floor - am all for it.  It doesn't stop till it stops!

My love and well wishes to all.  Rmember your heart and your mind.  That's where it's all at.

Jeffrey"

FrownDICK CORRINGTON....

Dick attended Les Sealand's memorial service and Dick had the following to say about the memorial service...."Les' memorial service last Saturday was really nice.  The Boulder Creek Community Church was full, with attendees from many phases of Les' life, including Bay High, the Militas Fire Department, golf buddies, and many friends from town.  During the service, several people shared their fond memories of Les.  The common theme was his kindness, willingness to help, sense of humor and how he genuinely cared for people.  He was loved by many throughout the town of Boulder Creek.  A large sign was posted along the main road through town reflecting that love."

After the service, reception (with dinner) was held at a facility north of town, and this was also packed with people.  It was a great time for sharing memories of Les and meeting some of his many friends.  Four of us from Bay High attended, Bill Campbell, Bob Westfall, Candace (Clark) Snyder and I.  We really enjoyed the opportunity to reminisce with each other about growing up in Bay and to just catch up with each other.  All in all, the day was a great tribute to Les."
